We operate a sophisticated customer management system, which enables us to view all aspects of your account instantly whilst you are communicating with us, be it email or on the phone. This enables us to get to the problem straight away.
The Centre is manned 24x7x365 by security personnel and also on-site technical engineers who work pro-actively to monitor and prevent any technical problems. Physical access to the building is secured by smart cards with a master access list and CCTV in continuous operation. All of the web servers we use are Dell running Redhat Enterprise Linux, we feel that this is the most stable hardware and software combination available in web hosting to date.
Any websites that you host with The Biggest Box are held in very sophisticated Data Centres. The data centre is a N+1 specification so if any service fails such as power or air conditioning a backup kicks in automatically. It has dual power feeds to ensure that if one goes down then the carries on regardless. There ia also a UPS system in place which ensures that if there is a power spike or power failure the system will be automatically protected. The entire Data Centre can be run from the UPS's backup giving enough time for the generators to kick in and power the Centre indefinitely.
The centre operates at a constant temperature of 20 degrees C to ensure optimum performance. Sophisticated fire detection and suppression technology is in use which detects and isolates the fire to ensure that it is contained and suppressed.
The current server specification in use is:

The network itself is a fully Cisco Gigabit network. Cisco is the industry leader in networking products and provides the very best in routing and switching technology. The centre makes use of a 100% CAT6 network cabling installation, ensure gigabit speeds throughout, unlike some other hosts who can only offer 100MB through CAT5 cable, we offer a full 1000MB connection.
The connection to the internet makes use of a multi-homed network utilising BGP4 technology. This is basically several separate connections to the Backbone of the internet. This allows redundancy, should a link fail the others kick in and all traffic is re-routed ensuring connectivity is maintained. This type of connection also allows the traffic to be sent via the fastest route to find its destination.
Things from time to time go wrong, we will never shy away from this at The Biggest Box, no company would be telling the truth if they claimed to offer a seemless, faultless service constantly. We will try to ensure that this happens, however if problems do arise don't panic. Upon signing up to a Hosting Service from The Biggest Box you will be assigned a customer reference number, given a link to our support forums and support email address and given a contact number for our technical support department. We will ensure that by what ever means necessary you can get in touch with us should a problem arise.
We aim to answer any support queries and begin investigations into the problem within 3 hours of the issue being raised. However the actual time is usually much quicker.
Our servers have up to date anti-virus software and definition files installed to ensure the server itself is protected and remains online. Your files stored in your web space however are not scanned as they will never be executed on the web server itself. It is therefor recommended that you have a firewall, patched operating system and upt o date antivirus product installed on which ever computer systems you will be accessing your web space and website from.

In the coming months you will be able to buy Readymade Websites from our download center. These are fully working complete websites. Customers with some basic knowledge of HTML code can make any changes themselves. Alternativelyour programmers at TheBiggestBox are able to make modifications at a very competitve rate.
